Merry Ole’ Christmas in Downtown Ashland!!! Shop, see Santa, take a carriage ride and maybe win a bike!  Pictures with Santa at Burger Barn (12noon-2pm) sponsored by Xcel Energy.   Bring your own Smart Phone and Camera and take a picture of Kids and Adults with Santa!  Carriage Rides on Main Street (12noon-2pm).  Sponsored in part by the Ashland Chamber and Holden Insurance.  Pick-up in front of the Court House.  Dress warm and enjoy the ride!  Bike & Helmet Give-away too! 2 drawings of Ten 20-inch bikes each (5 girls and 5 boys each) Registration 10-10:45am first drawing at 11am and Registration 2-2:45pm second drawing at 3pm Sponsored in part by the Ashland Chamber and Walmart.   Must be present to win.  Registrants must be appropriate age for 20 inch bike.  For more information, call 715-682-2500.

Citizen Science—Birding Snowshoe Hike.  Count birds for the Christmas Bird County with Naturalist Haley Appleman and contribute to citizen science! Meet at the Cable Natural History Museum at 8:00 a.m. and carpool to the Forest Lodge Nature Trail. Return by noon. Donations welcome. Call 715-798-3890 for more info.

Snowshoes and Sweets At Farmstead Creamery & Café.  Join Naturalist Emily Stone for an easy adventure through the wooded trails at North Star Homestead Farms. Learn about winter tree ID, animal tracking, birds, and anything else you’re curious about! Then gather at Farmstead Creamery & Café for hot drinks and sweet treats. Dress for the weather. Meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Café. Return by 11:30 a.m. Register by December 27, and reserve snowshoes (if needed) by calling the Cable Natural History Museum at 715-798-3890. $20 per person.

“Lure” of Lights – Fire Pit & S’mores!  Join the fun on Hayward’s Main St. from noon to 5 pm.  Make smores  & sip hot chocolate around the fire pit.  Every Saturday from Noon to Dark – Thanksgiving through Christmas.

 

12/15 /2018 – 7:30 pm at the Park Theater

Randy Sabien & The Subterraneans Christmas.  Join Mr. Fiddlehead himself and his merry elves – Joe LIndzius, Andy Dee, and Ed Willet – for another assault in their never-ending war on Christmas…..Christmas music that is! Included in the show are songs about shopping, eating, putting up with relatives, driving off the road and getting the flu.

The audience will be dazzled by arrangements of Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky, and at least one song that was recorded by an animated aardvark. Randy Sabien and the Subterraneans will also perform hits from Sabien’s album “Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.”

Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Students 18 and under are admitted for $5.  Tickets are available in advance at Art Beat of Hayward, 15845 W. 2nd Street (Cash or Check Only) or may be purchased ONLINE.

Blue Canvas Christmas at 7 pm.  The name may be blue but the Blue Canvas Christmas is anything and everything!  Bring on the holiday season with a musical performance by the Blue Canvas Orchestra.  Blue Canvas Christmas features songs of old and new, holiday classics, instrumentals, and an audience sing-a-long.  A seasonal musical performance that’s bound to fill your hearts with holiday cheer!  Presented at Stage North Theatre, 123 W Omaha St in Washburn.
