3 SEASON HUNTING & FISHING CABIN IN DRUMMOND, WISCONSIN

How did you learn about the north woods?  About the signs of weather?  The change of seasons?  About the stories of stars in the skies?  About hunting?  About fishing?  Perhaps you visited your grandma & grandpa’s cabin in the summer or spent time in the fall at your uncle’s deer camp.EASON HUNTING CABIN

This charming 1 bedroom cabin tucked back in the woods on 10 acres may bring back those memories of childhood adventures up north that you hold dear to your heart.  A covered deck entry welcomes you to this stepping stone retreat.  The 552 square foot cabin includes a combined kitchen/dining room, a living room and a bedroom.   All rooms are carpeted.  There are 2 unfinished, smaller rooms that could be transformed into a bathroom and used for storage.  The simple, mostly open floor plan is easy to heat in the cooler months and is easy to ventilate in the summertime.

The cabin’s heat source is electric baseboard.  With no running water the kitchen sink is drained into a tub.  Taking a walk to the outhouse is part of the cabin tradition.  There is an oversized 2-car garage that is almost new.   The garage has electricity, provides plenty of extra storage and could be easily set up with a workshop.  The driveway is gated to maintain privacy.

The 10-acre setting is well-wooded.  The south property line adjoins National Forest that is accessed by a trail from the cabin that winds through the land.  Hunting is enjoyable and even enviable – this part of Bayfield County is known as big buck country.  Fishing is fun on Pigeon Lake.  The landing is just down the road.  Pigeon is great for panfish and bass.  If you want more challenging and more sizeable water – two boat landings on the Eau Claire Chain of Lakes are about 9 miles away.

So maybe its time to teach the kids about a lifestyle without cell phones and IPods – even just for a weekend.  Maybe you need to get away from technology, too.  Retreating to these safe quarters in the woods gives the pleasure of an older, slower lifestyle.  Snug quarters promote closeness and a place to bond with each other – not just with nature.

As a simple retreat, this cabin is ready to use.   Call or email us to set up a showing and to take a walk in the great north woods.
