YURT CABIN ON PERRY LAKE IN CABLE, WI

Check this out!  Here is a brand new 452 sq. ft. yurt designed for year round use and made in Montana!  The yurt interior features all main living spaces:  kitchen, dining, living room, sleeping, a loft and a bath with a shower.   There’s a wood stove and an air conditioner, and both the conventional septic and drilled well are new.

Yurts have been around for at least 2,500 years.  They were first used by nomadic tribes in Asia because they are light weight, sturdy and easy to relocate.  Basically, a cylinder with a cone on top, yurts are freestanding structures.  The roof lacks interior rafter supports making it more spacious.  The rafters meet at the center of the roof and radiate out.  The point where they meet is called the compression ring.  As the rafters press down onto the trellis-like wall of the yurt, they push on the wall.  A cable holds the rafters in tension as they place outward pressure on the wall.

The wooded setting for this yurt is incredibly beautiful and peaceful.  A deck surrounds the structure and overlooks Perry Lake.  The 1-acre lot has 200 feet of sand bottom frontage.  Tall pines, the calls of loons, crystal clear water, great swimming, fishing and kayaking —- sound good?
