Hey ho! Here we go! Rolling our Fat Bikes over the snow!

It’s Fat Bike Birkie and our annual chance to ride the famed Birkie Trail before the snow melts.

The National Championship is at stake.  750 racers will take off from the start gate.

Exciting for sure – an unusual sight, Yes!  You won’t want to miss all the fun on race day this Saturday, March 7.

There’s a 9 am mass start for the 47K and 20K races at the old Telemark Lodge. The course loops through the hilly, wooded terrain and finishes back at Telemark. Racers are expected to begin crossing the finish line about 10:10 am (20K) and 10:55 am (47K).

Greet the racer finishers at the on sight festivities tent – brats and beer – all good cheer!  Saturday afternoon, there’s more fun at the Fat-Bike.com post race party at the Sawmill Saloon in Seeley.  A fundraiser for Fat Bike CAMBA, there will be prizes and vendors, great food and drink.

Curious about fat bikes?  Here is your chance to watch riders and even test ride a fat bike.  Bill King has a fat bike and has ridden the short race since the first race in 2012. Maybe you’ll love riding a fat bike and be lined up with Bill at the Fat Bike Birkie start next year.
