“Four Loons Waiting” has a North Woods story to tell.  When the owner was looking for his “log cabin on a lake” in Northern Wisconsin, he toured this home, loved it and the setting and hoped that loons summered on Atkins Lake.  The loons haunting calls and their wild laughter are friendly reminders of our special place on this planet.

After viewing the home, he strolled down to the dock where Four Loons were Waiting for him.  The experience was serendipitous – the loons sealed the deal, and the cabin name was born.  The four loons have returned again and again, and now they are waiting for you!

Four Loons is custom-built with large diameter pine logs.  The 1,716 sq. ft. finished layout is friendly for family and for entertaining.  It has a main floor bedroom, full bath and main floor laundry and a 23×20 master suite loft with ¾ bath.  The bedrooms have wood floors, and the bath and laundry floors are tiled. The loft easily holds a king-sized bed, has lake views, built-in storage, two nooks for reading, media or office space and an exterior woodland view balcony.

The great room combines with kitchen and dining and leads to the lakeside deck.  Features include a vaulted ceiling, a wood-burning stone fireplace, lake view dining and a spacious kitchen with granite counters and a tile floor.  While Four Loons is intimate enough for two – I have attended Potluck Parties here with 40 people!  The warm ambiance of this cabin is a crowd pleaser all seasons of the year!

There is a full basement that is clean and dry.  It is not finished, but part of the space has a tile floor and a stone-faced wall  – ready to become a family room.  There are also 2 walls of built-in, enclosed storage closets and a section for all utilities – including WiFi.

The detached garage holds 2 cars, kayaks, bikes – fishing gear – all your recreation stuff.  It has an extended lean-to roof for firewood storage.

Atkins Lake is 176 acres – clear water – 80 feet deep.  Like much of the lake’s shoreline, this cabin’s 100 feet of lake shore is hard-bottom and sandy.  The swimming is a treat – the fishing is good – the clear water is great for kayaks, snorkeling and SUPs.  Set near the end of a quiet lane, the 1.8 wooded acres surrounding this cabin offer lots of privacy.

Like finding a canary in a coal mine – Four Loons on this lake mean clean living, fresh air – and also clean water.  It also means you have finally arrived Up North!
